English singer Adele is set to scoop the pool at the 54th Grammy Awards on Monday with online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au installing her as the overwhelming favourite in the Record, Album and Song of the Year categories. Adele’s Rolling In The Deep is the $1.20 favourite to take out the Record of the Year category ahead of The Cave by Mumford & Sons ($5.00), Holocene by Bon Iver ($8.00), Grenade by Bruno Mars ($8.00) and Katy Perry’s Firework ($15).

In Album of the Year category, Adele’s 21 is at $1.10 with her closest competition coming from Bruno Mars with Doo-Woops & Hooligans ($7.50) and the Foo Fighter’s Wasting Light ($9.00). Born This Way by Lady Gaga ($11) and Rihanna’s Loud ($23) are the outsiders in that market. Adele’s Rolling In The Deep is the $1.25 favourite for the Song of the Year with All Of The Lights by Kanye West next in the market at $4.50 followed by The Cave from the Mumford & Sons ($7.50), Holocene by Bon Iver ($17) and Grenade by Bruno Mars ($19).

“The markets clearly reflect Adele’s popularity and the punters are definitely keen on her to take out all three categories,” sportsbet.com.au’s Ben Hawes said. In the Best New Artist category, Nicki Minaj is the $2.00 favourite with Bon Iver ($3.25), The Band Perry ($4.00), J. Cole ($7.00) and Skrillex ($13) also in the mix. Markets courtesy of sportsbet.com.au

Round 10 will see former Geelong star Gary Ablett go up against his old team mates for the first time as Gold Coast take on Geelong Saturday night in the first ever game at Metricon Stadium Saturday night. The matchup will be interesting but the prediction is an easy one for your footy tips.

The round kicks off with the Blues highlighting Friday night footy for the second week in a row and concludes Sunday afternoon with the Hawks & Bulldogs in the twilight game.

My Best Bet of Round 10 is Carlton by 1-39 against Melbourne on Friday night which is paying 2.30 at Sportsbet where they give you a $200 free bet bundle just for signing up. See more info here.

As a side bet for the future it would not surprise me to see quite a few people jumping on Lance “Buddy” Franklin to win the Brownlow Medal at $14 at Sportsbet at the moment. If he can keep himself on the park he could be the first Full Forward to win the medal since Tony Lockett way back in 1987.

All the St Kilda fans out there make sure to claim your free Saints jumper with Centrebet. The offer ends in a weeks time on May 31st so be quick. See the Centrebet site here to get your jumper today.

Melbourne V Carlton Friday night at the MCG

Carlton were very unlucky not to get over the line against the Cats last week. They showed just how good they can be. They must beat teams like Melbourne though to be a real contender.

Melbourne have been hit bad with injuries and suspension of late but they still have a very talented list. If they are any show against the Blues they will need massive games out Maloney, Green, Sylvia & Jurrah.

Tip: Blues by 44 points

Odds: Melbourne 4.60 Carlton 1.20

North Melbourne V Sydney Saturday at Etihad Stadium

The Kangaroos will be disappointed after letting one get away last week against the Lions. Drew Petrie continues to impress and Harvey, Swallow & Wells get the job done week in week out. It is the younger to middle-aged players that are letting the team down, they need to step it up to give North a chance.

The Swans got blown away in the second half by the Hawks, losing their 3rd straight at the SCG, I expect them to bounce back this week against North Melbourne. McGlynn has been consistent up forward but needs a bit more help on the scoreboard.

Tip: Swans by 28 points

Odds: North 2.20 Sydney 1.68

Fremantle V St Kilda Saturday at Patersons Stadium

The Dockers got their second win at AAMI Stadium this year last week and will head back home full of confidence. The loss of Aaron Sandilands for 4 weeks is a huge blow but I predict them to be able to cover him.

The Saints kept their small finals hopes alive with a victory over the Demons. The return to form of Reiwoldt, Goddard, Milne & Montagna will make saints fans happy but I am not sure they will have enough just quite yet to get over the Dockers in Perth.

Tip: Fremantle by 11 points

Odds: Saints 1.58 Freo 2.40

Gold Coast V Geelong Saturday night at Metricon Stadium

This will be a cracker of a match for the first 10 minutes while the Cats try to get at Gary Ablett in their first match against the former Cats superstar. From that point onward expect it to be all Geelong, don’t be surprised if this one is over 100 points.

Geelong may take the chance to rest older bodies such as Ottens & Milburn but will welcome back captain Cameron Ling to stop Ablett.

Tip: Cats by 84 points

Odds: Suns 12.50 Cats 1.03

Richmond V Port Adelaide Saturday night at TIO Stadium Darwin

The Tigers were super impressive last week against the Bombers and look a legitimate Finals hope this year. King & Nahas are proving to be a big help to Reiwoldt up forward while Cotchin & DeLedio continue their stellar seasons.

The Power on the other hand are in as big a trouble as any side I can think of in recent history. The way they are playing I am not sure they will win another game this season. The team needs a real shake up at the end of the year.

Tip: Tigers by 46 points

Odds: Richmond 1.25 Port 4.00

Adelaide V Brisbane Sunday ar AAMI Stadium

The Crows were too good for Collingwood for 3 quarters last week, but were run over in the last quarter. A very good sign for the Crows were the performances of Tippet, Thompson, Rutten and young gun Rory Sloane. Don’t expect a last quarter fade out this week.

Captain Jonathan Brown lead the Lions to their first win of the season last week with a return game 4 goal haul. Ash McGrath may return this week but stars Rockliff & Drummond are still 2 and 4 weeks away respectively. Brisbane will put up a brave fight but won’t be able to get their second win just yet.

Tip: Crows by 36 points

Odds: Adelaide 1.25 Brisbane 4.00

Collingwood V West Coast Sunday at the MCG

The Pies were given a real scare last week against Adelaide and were saved by one of the best last quarters ever seen got them the points against Adelaide. Swan has not been in the form everyone expects from him of late, this could be a big game for him.

The Eagles were the hottest team in the AFL last week, smashing the Bulldogs by 123 points. Josh Kennedy was brilliant with 10 goals but I also really liked the games of Luke Shuey & Marc LeCras. I don’t think the Pies will have it all their own way but will get the points.

Tip: Pies by 38 points

Odds: Pies 1.17 Eagles 5.12

Western Bulldogs V Hawthorn Sunday afternoon at Etihad Stadium

What Western Bulldogs side will run out on the park this week? The one that is capable of beating any team in the comp or the one that got demolished last week. Expect changes to be made with Barry Hall to be the biggest inclusion.

Unfortunately for the Dogs they come up against a in form Hawks side. Buddy was brilliant again last week, Mitchell was his normal self but more importantly for the Hawks their captain Luke Hodge looks to be getting close to getting back to his best. This may be a shootout between Franklin & Hall and if Buddy can kick a little straighter than he has been he should be able to get the Hawks over the line.

Tip: Hawks by 22 points

Odds: Bulldogs 3.48 Hawks 1.31

Sportingbet Australia has posted a head to head market for Spring’s Patinack Farm Classic putting Australia’s star, Black Caviar against Singapore champion, Rocket Man.

Black Caviar has been posted as a $1.55 favourite with Rocket Man a distinct outsider at $2.45 despite showing similar dominance to the undefeated mare in his win in the Group 1 KrisFlyer Sprint in Singapore on Sunday.

Sportingbet Australia CEO Michael Sullivan said Black Caviar’s undefeated record would guarantee punters would continue to put the big money on her.

“There is no doubt Rocket Man is a very very good horse but I think she is in a league all of her own,” Sullivan said.
“Punters will be excited by the odds on offer for Black Caviar as they are significantly longer than anything we have seen recently.
“I am sure all those punters who have filled their pockets will come for her again even against Rocket Man.”

Sullivan said the form around Black Caviar looked a lot stronger than the races Rocket Man had been contesting.

“Her rating is so high due to the quality of fields she has beaten including the likes of Hay List,” he said.
“Rocket Man may have won with similar ease in Singapore but really he beat a field of ageing sprinters and I don’t think that form is anywhere near as strong.”

Make sure to claim the $150 bonus bet when placing your bet with Sporting bet. See here for more info on the offer.
Black Caviar vs Rocket Man – Head to Head Patinack Farm Classic
Sportingbet Australia market
Black Caviar 1.55
Rocket Man 2.45

Indigenous Round in the AFL promises to be a beauty. The Cats & Blues kick off things Friday night at Etihad in another Friday night Blockbuster. Match of Round 9 for me will be Richmond Vs Essendon Saturday night at the G.

Make sure you to get your free St Kilda jumper with Centrebet before May 31st. See our promo review here orcheckout the Centrebet site here for more info on the promotion.

My best bet of Round Nine is Richmond to win between 1-39 against Essendon which is paying $3.60 at Sportsbet where they give you a $200 free bet bundle just for signing up. See more info here.

Carlton V Geelong Friday Night at Etihad Stadium

The Cats had a huge win last week and sit a top the AFL ladder undefeated. The passing of club legend Bobby Davis will be enough to get them over the line in this one, they will be “fair dinkum unbelievable” Friday night.

The Blues come off the bye, a thing that most team have struggled to do, all though they have quite a good record against the Cats recently I cant see them getting up this week

Tip: Cats by 19 points

Odds: Carlton 1.48 Geelong 2.65

St Kilda V Melbourne Saturday at Etihad Stadium

Both teams need a win, it is just who wants it more than the other. With all Melbourne’s injury and suspension worries I can’t see them being able to stop the Saints who if they lose this can almost certainly kiss goodbye any finals hopes for 2011. I expect Brendon Goddard to come out of his form slump and have a huge game and lead the Saints to just their second win of the season.

Tip: Saints by 14 points

Odds: St Kilda 1.50 Melbourne 2.60

Port Adelaide V Fremantle Saturday at AAMI Stadium

The Power were very bad again last week against the Swans, I can not see their season improving much from here on. Coach Matthew Primus most be getting frustrated with his players who need to start performing for him to keep his job next year.

The Dockers coming off a loss in the WA Derby and Adam McPhee added to their ever growing injury list look to get their second win in Adelaide this season after knocking off the Crows in Round 3. Mundy, Pavlich & Sandilands will dominate the Power and lead Fremantle to their fifth win of the season.

Tip: Fremantle by 28 points

Odds: Port 2.60 Freo 1.50

Brisbane V North Melbourne Saturday night at the Gabba

The win less Lions expect to be bolstered by the return of skipper Jonathan Brown since his sickening facial injury in round one. Good in the first half against Essendon last week but another second half fade out hurt the Lions last week.

The Kangaroos got their second win of the season last week with a big come from behind win against Melbourne. Boomer Harvey is in scintillating form and young Ruckman Todd Goldstein is stepping up and having a huge year. I’m tipping the Roo’s to scrape over the line against the bottom of the table Lions.

Tip: North by 8 points

Odds: Lions 2.00 Kangaroos 1.81

Richmond V Essendon Sunday at the MCG

The Tigers were disappointing against the dogs last week after winning 3 in a row. Jack Reiwoldt is yet to put together a big game this year and the bright lights of “Dream Time at the G” may be his time to kick a big bag.

The Bombers will be without captain Jobe Watson to injury and midfielder Heath Hocking due to suspension and look to welcome back Brent Stanton after missing last week. Will the bombers have enough depth to cover in the midfield will be the thing that decides this match. My prediction is Richmond can pull off the upset here.

Tip: Tigers by 17 points

Odds: Richmond 2.90 Essendon 1.40

Collingwood V Adelaide Sunday at Etihad Stadium

Coming off their first loss since Round 22 2010 Collingwood will not allow the Crows a sniff in this game and will dominate from the first bounce. Alan Toovey will go out of the side after the sickening clash last week with Tom Hawkins, the pies could welcome back captain Nick Maxwell & premiership player Dane Beams to the mix.

Adelaide had a relatively easy win against the Gold Coast last Saturday and will look to include Taylor Walker after one week in the SANFL. The Crows though I don’t think will have the skills or experience to match it with Collingwood.

Tip: Pies by 48 points

Odds: Pies 1.06 Crows 9.00

Sydney V Hawthorn Sunday at the SCG

Sydney had a big win against the Power last week and look to continue their dominance against Hawthorn in Sydney, having not lost since 2003. Trent Dennis Lane could come into the side after booting 7 goals last week in the 2′s.

The Hawks were struck down with injuries to Stephen Gilham and David Hale last week but still managed to come back against the Saints after being 5 goals down at half time. Buddy Franklin could be the most dangerous player in the AFL after showing last week he can not only play forward and midfield but can also do a little ruck work when required. If the Hawks can stop Shane Mumford in the ruck with the likely combination of Renouf & Roughead they should be able to outrun the Swans.

Tip: Hawks by 13 points

Odds: Swans 1.77 Hawks 2.05

West Coast V Western Bulldogs Sunday at Patersons Stadium

A big win last week for the Eagles over Fremantle without Embley & Kerr will see them heading into this match as favourites. The above 2 should be OK to play this week leaving John Worsfold with a selection dilemma.

The Dogs put a stop to their losing streak with a comfortable win against Richmond on Sunday. The loss to Fremantle at Patersons Stadium earlier this year will still be hurting but I am not sure the Dogs are in good enough form yet to travel across the country to get the W.

Tip: Eagles by 12 points

Odds: West Coast 1.77 Western Bulldogs 2.05

Round 8 will see undefeated Geelong and Collingwood start the Round Friday night in a top of the table clash which promises to be a beauty. The round concludes Sunday evening with the WA Derby between Fremantle and the West Coast. The Saints and Bulldogs are playing for their season this week and the Tigers going for their fourth straight win.

Catlton has the bye this week.

There is only a couple of weeks to go for to get your free St Kilda jumper with Centrebet. See our promo review here or checkout the Centrebet site here for more info on the promotion.

My best bet of Round Eight is a Melbourne/Adelaide/Essendon/Sydney multibet win which is paying $2.87 at Sportsbet where they give you a $200 free bet bundle just for signing up. See more info here.

Geelong V Collingwood Friday night at the MCG

What a match we are expecting Friday night in the battle for top spot. Collingwood come off the bye in Round 7, something a lot of teams have not done well. The pies will miss big man Darren Jolly and defender Chris Tarrant facing a fitness test.

Geelong on the other hand will welcome back star Steven Johnson and captain Cameron Ling for the blockbuster. Coming off their record breaking 24th straight win at Skilled Stadium can the Cats knock off the red hot magpies? I suspect not, my prediction is Collingwood will be better for the week off and will get home in a close one.

Tip: Pies by 22 points

Odds: Geelong 3.00 Collingwood 1.39

North Melbourne V Melbourne Saturday at Etihad Stadium

The Kangaroos need a win to keep any hopes alive of playing finals in 2011. The form of captain Brent Harvey and Drew Petrie have been promising in recent weeks and both will need a big game to overcome Melbourne.

Playing for caoch Dean Bailey last week Melbourne were brilliant against Adelaide smashing them by 96 points. They will miss young gun Jack Trengove for the next 3 weeks with suspension and defender Jack Grimes for an extended time through injury but I’m tipping them to have too many winners over the ground to grab their second straight.

Tip: Melbourne by 35 points

Odds:North Melbourne 1.92 Melbourne 1.92

Adelaide V Gold Coast Saturday at AAMI Stadium

Last time the Gold Coast traveled to Adelaide they recorder their first ever win, last week they were fantastic against Brisbane to get their second franchise win.

This match could not have come at a better time for the struggling Crows after their worst performance under coach Neil Craig last week. They can not take the Suns lightly though but should win comfortably at home.

Tip: Adelaide by 55 points

Odds: Adelaide 1.13 Gold Coast 6.00

Brisbane V Essendon Saturday night at the Gabba

The Lions were stunned by the young Suns last week in the first ever Q Clash. Expect Merret to start at full back this week after last weeks experiment at full forward did not pay off. The move of Ash McGrath to the forward line with 6 goals could be one for Michael Voss to look at again this week.

The Bombers struggled last week but stood up when it counted. Jobe Watson is in superb form leading from the front, expect another big game from him to lead the Bombers to an easy win.

Tip: Bombers by 38 points

Odds: Brisbane 5.25 Essendon 1.16

Sydney V Port Adelaide Saturday night at the MCG

Sydney got back on the winners list last week with a gutsy 8 point win against the Western Bulldogs. Big man Shane Mumford showed why he is one of the best big men in the comp with a standout performance and veteran Ryan O’Keefe found some form last Saturday.

The Power’s season went from bad to worse with a home loss to the Hawks allowing them to kick 8 of the last 9 goals of the match to run out 32 point winners. Exciting midfielder David Rodan injured his knee yet again and will be missed as the Powers quickest midfielder.

Tip: Swans by 48 points

Odds: Sydney 1.14 Port 5.75

Hawthorn V St Kilda Sunday at the MCG

This shapes up as the Saints last chance to get their season on track. They will miss Leigh Montagna through suspension though putting more pressure on Dal Santo, Goddard & Reiwoldt to stand up and take over.

The Hawks were a bit flat against Port Adelaide last week but finally got over the line with a 5 goal to 1 last term. They will welcome back star Cyril Rioli for the match and look to another best on ground performance from Sam Mitchell to get them over the line.

Tip: Hawks by 18 points

Odds: Hawks 1.33 Saints 3.30

Western Bulldogs V Richmond Sunday at Etihad Stadium

The Dogs will look to welcome back Barry Hall & Shaun Higgins to try and end their losing streak at 3. Sitting outside the 8 in unfamiliar to the dogs in the past 4 years, expect them to come out firing.

The Tigers on the other hand are looking to break into the eight, sitting just outside on percentage. Last week they showed just how much they have improved with a great victory against Fremantle. This for me could turn into a shootout and be the most entertaining game of the round.

Tip: Tigers by 13 points

Odds: Western Bulldogs 1.68 Richmond 2.20

West Coast V Fremantle Sunday at Patersons Stadium

Both teams will come out aggressive and hard hitting as they always do for the derby. With both teams coming off losses in Melbourne last week this promises to be a great match.

The battle in the ruck is one to look at with Sandilands taking on Cox & Natinui in what could determine the outcome. The Dockers go in slight favourite’s and I am sticking with them to get over the line in this one. Expect fireworks!!!

Tip: Fremantle by 10 points

Odds: Eagles 2.00 Dockers 1.80

The Stradbroke Handicap (1400m) headlines a cracking day of racing at Eagle Farm on Saturday.

Last year’s race was won by Black Piranha while Ortensia, a $12 chance this year ran third. After adding the Doomben 10,000 to the three Group Ones they accumulated at the Sydney Easter Carnival the fairer sex are poised to continue their hot streak in Saturday’s Stradbroke Handicap.

Ultra consistent filly Melito ($6) ticks all the boxes, she has performed to the required level at her last four starts in Group One weight for age company, she is carrying 3.5kg under weight for age and is drawn to get the run of the race. Graceful Anna ($12) found the line well in last week’s BTC Cup and with the services of big race jockey Glen Boss from an inside alley she has to be included.

Despite drawing the car park Group One winning mare Ortensia ($12) will appreciate the bigger Eagle Farm circuit, the return of regular rider Craig Williams and the expected good tempo.

The Group One T.J.Smith for two year olds over 1600m is one of many interesting support races. Hopefully talented filly Ringa Ringa Rosie ($3.60) finds conditions to suit her here. She has been looking for extra distance, a big track and firm footing, all of which she will find on Saturday.

IASbet is the place to go for this weekends racing. They offer new customers a $100 free bet when a $50 deposit is made, easy as that. They also offer the largest range of race betting products in Australia making them the racing specialists.
