2009 NRL Premiership Preview

nrl grand finalFinally the day is here for the NRL Grand Final. The 2009 NRL Premiership match will take place this Sunday at ANZ Stadium and it is bound to one hell of a match.

The Melbourne Storm are in top form after smashing the Broncos last weekend in the semi-final. They have had a great season and will appear in their 4th NRL Grand Final in as many years this weekend. Meanwhile, the Parramatta Eels have had an incredible finals series and will be keen to take the NRL premiership after finishing 8th and barely even making the finals.

NRL Semi-Final Preview, Odds and Tips

The NRL finals are nearing completion for the 2009 season with the semi-final matches to be played this weekend on Friday and Saturday nights.

Last weekend the Titans were eliminated in poor fashion after being hammered by Parramatta. The final score for Friday night was 27 – 2 and was definitely not the best game for the Titans.

Brisbane also managed to get over the Dragons to claim a semi-final spot. The Dragons have played poorly of late and even after winning the home and away season they were not good enough eventually going down 24 – 10 last weekend. Read more of this article »

NRL Finals Week 2 – Preview, Tips & Odds

What a round we seen last week for the first week of the NRL finals. We now move on to the second round of the finals and everyone is getting pumped.

Last week Manly and Newcastle were eliminated from the finals while the Bulldogs and Storm played some excellent rugby to earn themselves a week off and a place in week 3 of the NRL finals.

A loss this week will mean a trip home and a few months off while a win will see the better two sides head through to week 3 of the NRL finals to play either the Melbourne Storm or Bulldogs. Read more of this article »

After a great season the NRL finals are finally here and we now have the opportunity to see some excellent rugby being played. Only the best have come this far and now a loss can result in a team’s season being over.

No-one will really want to lose in this weekend round 25 games and all the teams will be looking for good form to finish the season with. Those teams who simply can’t find it will not last long in the NRL finals.

NRL Round 24 – Tips and Odds

bulldogsWith only three rounds left to be played in the 2009 NRL season many teams will be trying to ramp up the intensity in this weeks round 24 clashes, particularly those in the middle of the ladder.

A loss this week may very well result in not playing finals for a few teams as the competition has been rather tight this year. There is only three points separating the teams placed 5th through 12th.

The biggest surprise of last week was the amazing defeat that Brisbane handed Penrith. 24-18 down at half time, Brisbane came out in the second half and turned the game around with 40 unanswered points. The final score was 24-58 in favour of Brisbane. Read more of this article »

NRL Round 23 – Preview & Tips

stormThe end of round 22 has seen us move another week towards the end of the season without too many serious developments coming from the round.

The first game of round 22 saw the mighty Dragons’ juggernaut take a very nice win against the Penrith Panthers. The final score on Friday night was 6-25 in favour of St. George Illawarra.

The second game for Friday night saw the Cowboys face off against the Storm in a pretty ordinary match. By the end of the game, Melbourne had taken a comfortable enough lead to be satisfied with the win. The final score was 20-8. Read more of this article »

NRL Round 22 – Preview & Tips

Round 21 of the NRL championship saw some interesting matches to say the least.

St. George-Illawarra have proudly stood up and shown that they have what it takes to win the premiership after a tidy 14 point (26-12) victory over the Melbourne Storm. Unfortunately, it has been confirmed that Manu has broken his leg in 2 places.

The Cowboys managed to bring an end to the Titans home ground winning streak with a very nice 16 point win (18-34). To add injury to insult, Titans midfielder Brett Delaney tore a hamstring during the loss and will spend 4 – 6 weeks on the sidelines.

Brisbane were handed a massive (there biggest in the NRL) defeat against the Canberra Raiders. The final score ended at (56-0) and Brisbane has now conceded over 300 points in their last 8 games. Read more of this article »
