Asian Cup Final

Australia have done it. They have reached the final of the Asian Cup after a 2-0 win over the United Arab Emirates thanks to early goals from Trent Sainsbury and Jason Davidson. It is the second time the Socceroos have graced the competitions show piece after losing out to Japan four years ago but on home soil you would have to say that we are hot hot favourites to take out our first major title.ange-postecoglou_nzkd4fjgmlz51u387xwnoa987

Ange Postecoglou’s men have barn stormed though this tournament playing positive attacking football that has once again got the country interested in the round ball code. It is a style that the former Melbourne Victory coach promised he would bring and given our lack of any real big hitting players in world football it is a style that has surprised many.

Your free bet from sportsbetting wouldn’t go to astray by tipping the Aussies for an outright win at $2.20 but we are coming up against a South Korean side that beat us in the group stage 1-0 and that are yet to concede a goal all tournament. In Son Heung-min they have a player of real quality. The attacking midfielder posses great technique and has Champions League experience with Bayer Leverkusen in Germany. There is no doubt they are a threat and $3.40 for the win I can understand why the Captain Risky among you could well be tempted.

But in truth I really feel the Socceroos have too much momentum going in this one and with the home crowd behind us it should be enough to get us over the line. Although the Koreans did beat us just a week ago the result doesn’t tell the whole story and with a little more clinical finishing the story would have been a totally different one.

The Koreans will be tough but my money is on a Half Time Draw / Socceroos To Win bet with sportsbetting paying $5.00. GET ON IT

Other notable bets:

Tim Cahill first goal scorer $5.50

No South Korea goal scorer $2.25
