NRL Footy Tips Round 1 2014

Rabbitohs v Roosters Thursday at ANZ Stadium

Rabbitohs $2.15

Roosters $1.70

Tip: Roosters

Without doubt the game of the round to open the season on Thursday night. The Roosters odds have been crushed into $1.70 with the bunnies nor getting much love with the punters.

My prediction is the Rabbitohs premiership opportunity will be still eating away at the team and will take a few week for them to get back into things

Roosters by 2 tries.

Bulldogs v Broncos Friday night at ANZ Stadium

Bulldogs $1.55

Broncos $2.45

Tip: Bulldogs

Although the odds of $1.55 are pretty short for the Bulldogs, I can’t go past them. The poor year the Broncos had last year is likely to continue into 2014 where I can’t see them winning to many games against top 8 sides.

Panthers v Knight Saturday at Sportingbet Stadium

Panthers $1.77

Knights $2.05

Tip: Knights

This will be the fist upset of 2014 where I see the Knights winning easily. Although the Panthers have recruited well for this season like many teams before them, it will take a month or two of match time to get into a winning rhythm.

The Knights don’t look as attractive on paper but they work very well as a team and my prediction is they will find it pretty easy to break the Panthers lines.

Sea Eagles v Storm Saturday night at Brookvale Oval

Sea Eagles $1.53

Storm $2.50

Tip: Sea Eagles

For people looking to put a few big bets on this weekend we recommend passing on this match. The Storm are in most categories a better team the Sea Eagles but have a terrible record at Brookvale Oval. Theres plenty of value for the Storm but being round 1 and away from home I’m sticking with the Sea Eagles.

Cowboys V Raiders Saturday night at Smiles Stadium

Cowboys $1.30

Raiders $3.50

Tip Cowboys

This is the easiest choice for the week and at $1.30 an easy way to make 30% on you money in my eyes. Im tipping a very comfortable win for the Cowboys so if your feeling adventurous take the points line of 12 points paying $2.10.

Dragons v Tigers

Dragons $1.90

Tigers $1.90

Tip: Tigers

A very difficult match to tip and it could be just as difficult to watch as the potential 2 cellar dwellers for 2014 match up.

I’m tipping the Tigers but only going on the improvements they made on the tail end of the 2013 season.

Eels v Warriors

Eels $2.25

Warriors $1.65

Tip: Warriors

The Warriors have been building the last few season and its about time they have a real crack for the premiership this year. They will win by a good margin on Sunday giving them the kickstart to the season they are after. I predict they will be on top of the ladder after round 1 with a big win.

Take the Warriors points line at -5.5 paying $2.10 at sportsbetting.

Shark v Titans

Sharks $1.58

Titans $2.37

Tip: Sharks

The sharks will have a comfortable win to finish off round 1 of the 2014 season. The Titans more times than not leave Sydney empty handed and I predict the trend to continue.

My tip for Titan fans is get on the Sun’s this year, they will have much more success.
